Star Birds Demo from the Creators of Dorfromantik Arrives in June

The German indie studio Toukana Interactive, creator of the popular game Dorfromantik, has announced a demo version of its new project Star Birds, which will be available on Steam in June 2025. This unique blend of building simulator, resource management, and space adventure is being developed in collaboration with the renowned science channel kurzgesagt.

The demo will allow players a glimpse into the game’s core mechanics:

• Building production facilities on asteroids
• Creating complex production chains
• Managing interplanetary transport networks.

While only a portion of the campaign will be available, players will be able to meet the main protagonists, the space-faring birds, and test their skills in a specially designed challenge level. Toukana Interactive emphasizes that Star Birds will appeal to players who enjoy relaxing gameplay with a certain level of accessibility, as well as seasoned fans of these genres.

Inspired by the distinctive aesthetic and tone of the kurzgesagt channel, Star Birds offers a cheerful and witty approach to space themes, combining science fiction with innovative building mechanics. The game creates a unique atmosphere where birds colonize asteroids, and a new trailer shown during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase provides insight into what we can expect from the demo version.
