Marek Tyminski, the CEO of CI Games, has announced a permanent price drop for the game Lords of the Fallen. The new price will be 29.99 euros, a significant reduction from its previous cost of 69.99 euros on consoles and 59.99 euros on PC.

“We’re slashing prices across the entire CI Games catalog — and we’re committed to keeping it that way. Fair pricing. Players first”, said Tyminski in an X post.

This decision is a notable departure from the usual industry practice. Typically, the price of a physical game copy goes down over time, while the digital version often stays at a higher, or “inflated” price. This move by CI Games challenges that trend and seems to be a direct response to a changing market. Data from Statista in 2024 showed that many consumers were hesitant to pay high prices for games, a trend that began after the post-COVID market shifts.

The price cut aligns with CI Games’ overall strategy to focus on giving players better value. The company recently celebrated a major milestone, selling 20 million copies of its internal games, including Lords of the Fallen.

The hope is that the lower price will attract new players who might have been waiting for a better deal. This new pricing strategy from CI Games stands out in an industry where aggressive pricing is still common. By making the game more affordable, the company is betting that a lower price will lead to a bigger and more active player base.
