Perfect Random’s FPS roguelite SULFUR hit a major milestone, selling over 200,000 copies on Steam. In true SULFUR fashion, the developers marked the occasion with a humorous, in-game celebration, modifying a gun to fire 200,000 bullets at once.

The game’s success follows a rapid rise, beginning with its launch in November 2024 when it quickly sold over 50,000 units. As Perfect Random’s debut title, SULFUR combines the fluid gunplay of classic shooters with roguelite progression and high-stakes loot. The game’s unique identity fuses cartoony visuals with a grim, atmospheric horror, setting it apart from other titles.
Players dive into a procedurally generated underworld filled with grotesque creatures and sinister conspiracies. Starting at a suspicious coven and a church in flames, the narrative unfolds through environmental storytelling. You’ll travel through biomes like caverns, shanties, sewers, dungeons, and castles.
Currently in Early Access, the game continues to evolve. The September 12 Desert Update, for example, introduced the new biome along with new enemies, weaponry, a challenging boss, and overall performance improvements. Perfect Random will continue to refine the game as it moves toward its 1.0 launch.
