The team behind The Abbess Garden has announced that the cozy story-driven gardening game will launch on March 2, 2026 on PC via Steam. Set in France in the year 1643, the game mixes calm gardening systems with real history and a soft, personal story.

Players step into the role of Agnès, a young peasant given the task of restoring a forgotten private garden at the abbey of Port-Royal-des-Champs. This location is not fictional but a real historical site that still exists today as a national museum in France. By using this setting, the game invites you to experience history in a quiet and thoughtful way, focused on care, patience, and renewal.

Gardening is the heart of the experience and is based on real plant care rather than simple placement. Plants grow freely without a grid, and players must pay attention to soil types, water levels, and the needs of each species. As seasons change, the garden grows and shifts naturally, showing different stages of each plant’s life. Flowers, roots, and seeds must be harvested at the right time, as they are used for medicine, research, and story-related tasks.

As the garden slowly returns to life, the story begins to unfold. While exploring the grounds, Agnès finds a strange book left behind by a dead spy. This discovery draws the attention of the local community, who try to understand its meaning before it attracts the notice of powerful figures across Europe.
