Publisher THQ Nordic and developer Weappy have announced that a playable demo for The Eternal Life of Goldman will be released for PC via Steam in February as part of Steam Next Fest: February 2026 Edition. The demo will cover roughly the first 90 minutes of the game, offering players a substantial introduction to its world, mechanics, and tone.
Much of what makes The Eternal Life of Goldman unique is the care behind its creation. According to the developers, the game is the result of years of work by a team deeply influenced by classic cartoons, comics, and games. By returning to traditional, frame-by-frame animation, Weappy deliberately chose a slower, more demanding production process in pursuit of uncompromising visual quality.
The game aims to recreate the sense of wonder many players felt the first time they encountered a 16-bit platformer, when simply moving through a world felt magical. At the same time, it avoids blindly copying genre features. The Eternal Life of Goldman embraces what works best about classic side-scrollers while trimming away common frustrations. The platforming is challenging and precise, but it rewards improvisation and clever thinking rather than memorization.
The Eternal Life of Goldman is currently scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
