DON’T NOD has announced that the soundtrack for its upcoming cinematic science-fiction third-person action adventure Aphelion will be composed by César Award–winning French-Tunisian composer Amine Bouhafa. Alongside the music reveal, the developer also confirmed that a physical edition of the game will be distributed by Maximum Entertainment across North America, Europe, and Australia.
For Bouhafa, Aphelion marks his first step into video game composition, and it’s a collaboration he has clearly embraced. In a press release, he described the experience as refreshing: “This is my first time working on a video game, and I loved the way that [the Aphelion team] thought about the music and about the game.”
DON’T NOD creative director Florent Guillaume explained that the team was drawn to Bouhafa’s work after hearing his score for The Summit of the Gods. According to Guillaume, Bouhafa has a rare ability to capture intimate, human emotions within epic settings, making him a natural fit for Aphelion’s character-driven journey.
Bouhafa is best known for his work on films such as Timbuktu, The Summit of the Gods, and The Little Sister, and his approach to Aphelion blends that cinematic sensitivity with a more interactive focus. His music is designed to give life to the frozen planet Persephone, underscoring the tension of the Nemesis and the evolving relationship between protagonists Ariane and Thomas.
Aphelion is currently scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. It will also be available on Game Pass.
