A chaotic new co-op shooter has burst onto Steam with a surprisingly strong debut, blending wild west shootouts with supernatural chaos and players seem to be loving it. Far Far West, developed by Evil Raptor Games and published by Fireshine Games, launched into Steam Early Access on April 28, 2026, and is already making a serious impression.

Set in a haunted, monster-filled version of the Wild West, Far Far West puts players in the boots of robot cowboys working together in 1–4 player co-op. The goal is simple: take on missions, blast through hordes of enemies, collect bounties, and make it out alive. The gameplay leans into fast-paced action mixed with spells, weapons, and unpredictable encounters, creating a loop that encourages repeat runs and experimentation.

The launch follows a highly successful demo phase that attracted over 400,000 players, building strong momentum ahead of release. That momentum has clearly carried over, with the game reaching an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, sitting at around 98% approval from thousands of user reviews and has also surpassed the 25.000 concurrent players mark.

Players have been quick to highlight the game’s strengths, particularly its energetic co-op gameplay, distinct art style, and sense of humor, with various modifiers and card-based effects adding variety to each run. Some comparisons have been drawn to Deep Rock Galactic, especially in how it blends horde-shooter elements with roguelike structure and extraction-style objectives.

While early impressions are largely positive, some players have pointed out areas for improvement, including performance tweaks during longer sessions or when dealing with distant visual elements. As an Early Access title, these are the kinds of refinements the developers are expected to address over time.
