If sailing across a post-apocalyptic Norse world filled with giant corpses and sea monsters sounds like your kind of adventure, Waters of Ragnarök might be worth keeping an eye on. The upcoming strategy-survival game from Icelandic developer Polar Region Games combines naval combat, exploration, fleet management, and RPG-style progression in a world left shattered after Ragnarök.
Humanity’s last survivors now live among flooded ruins and the remains of fallen giants. You command customizable ships powered by magical Jötunn Hearts, harvesting resources from the dead giants scattered across the seas. These resources can then be used to expand fleets, upgrade vessels, and unlock new capabilities.
Combat is designed around a mix of real-time action and tactical pauses, allowing you to target enemy weak points, cripple ships, launch boarding assaults, or seize valuable relics. Outside of battles, you’ll explore dangerous waters filled with storms, magical fog, sea monsters, and forgotten settlements while recruiting heroes and building relationships with surviving factions.
It currently has no release date, but you can wishlist it on Steam.
