If you’ve been looking for a low-stress cozy game to sink time into, Papaya Plaza might be worth keeping an eye on. Announced by publisher Weekend Games and developer Biscuit Factory Games, this charming village-builder is bringing colorful pixel-art vibes and laidback town management to PC via Steam.

In Papaya Plaza, players take on the role of mayor, rebuilding a struggling tourist town into a lively destination packed with happy villagers, cozy shops, and personalized decorations. The goal is simple: improve your Town Rank and eventually turn the village into a prestigious 5-Star paradise.

There’s no heavy pressure or punishing mechanics here. Instead, the experience focuses on creativity, helping villagers with their problems, unlocking new stores, and slowly shaping the town however you want. The pixel-art style also looks fantastic, especially thanks to artwork from Stef Bollen, better known online as StefScribbles.

Interestingly, the team behind the game includes developers who previously worked on Fall Guys and Fortnite, though Papaya Plaza heads in a completely different direction with its cozy atmosphere and slower pace.
