PolyGryph has revealed that Archon Soul will launch on Steam on July 29, offering a roguelike experience inspired by two of the genre’s most recognizable titles while introducing its own unique gameplay systems.

According to founder Thomas Griffin, development began in late 2023 after experimenting with ideas that combined the strategic deckbuilding of Slay the Spire with the dice mechanics found in Dicey Dungeons. The team eventually shifted its focus toward making dice an essential part of character progression rather than simple random number generators.

Players can create personalized dice using interchangeable faces, 40 runes, and over 30 dice bodies, unlocking more than 65,000 possible combinations. Those dice interact with over 200 spells, allowing players to craft powerful synergies while progressing through four acts and battling toward the Archon’s palace.

The game also features four playable characters with distinct abilities, encouraging multiple playthroughs and different approaches to combat.
