CatchMaker Combines Exploration, Bug Collection, and Dating Minigames

Skytrace Games has announced CatchMaker during the Wholesome Snack 2025 Showcase. This cozy 3D adventure game mixes bug-catching with a lighthearted matchmaking system, all set on a peaceful magical island. The full game is planned for release in 2026 on PC via Steam, and a demo is expected to arrive very soon.

In CatchMaker, players act as both an explorer and the island’s unofficial “love doctor.” The main focus is on discovering and studying the many cute creatures that live across the island. By watching their behaviors and learning their habits, players fill out a detailed Field Guide and capture bugs using nets, lures, or simple hands-on chasing.

After learning what each bug likes, you help them find love by arranging jar dates. These dates include small minigames, short conversations, and compatibility checks that reflect the bugs’ random traits, such as wing count, shell hardness, attitude, or antenna style.

All of these efforts support the larger goal of restoring balance to the island’s ecosystem. You will explore beaches, meadows, cliffs, and other relaxing biomes as a casual, stylish heroine. Along the way, you can grow special plants that attract certain bugs and decorate the jar dates with items like rocks, moss, and flowers, choosing fitting spots across the island to help each pair find their perfect match.
