Indie studio Yellow Brick Games, founded by Dragon Age creator Mike Laidlaw and Ubisoft veterans in November 2020, has officially announced its self-published third-person fantasy action-adventure Eternal Strands. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam, but a release date has not yet been announced.
At the heart of Eternal Strands lies an innovative new in-game interactivity system: the dynamic spread of heat, cold and destruction allows for interesting reactions during combat. You can throw flaming trees at enemies using telekinetic powers, shoot nearby trees to block your opponent's attacks, or channel a powerful telekinetic force to pluck rocks from the ground.
Face formidable opponents and defeat them with a combination of sword, magic and mobility. Jump on their massive forms and climb them to attack them from different angles. Explore the wilderness, the capital city of Dynevron and the secrets beneath as every surface is climbable. Magical abilities allow you to create bridges and burn obstacles, and the next-gen physics system encourages and rewards the player's creativity in exploration as much as in combat. You can also return to base camp to consult with a rich cast of characters.
