Prepare for a perilous journey into the world of cooperative horror with No More Room in Hell 2, the latest game from Torn Banner Studios. Announced during Summer Game Fest 2024, this first-person shooter will be released in Early Access for PC via Steam on Halloween.
In No More Room in Hell 2, you take on the role of emergency response teams tasked with surviving in zombie-infested zones. With permadeath, every decision is crucial, and you must cooperate with other players to gather supplies, store gear, and complete missions. The game offers intense eight-player cooperative gameplay, where communication and strategy are key to survival.
The game’s huge map, Power Plant, sets the scene as you move through abandoned locations like gas stations, bars, and military checkpoints. Each game starts with a group of eight players spawning on the edges of the map, collaborating to reach the center and fulfill objectives while battling hordes of zombies.
With an emphasis on realism, No More Room in Hell 2 features a dynamic brutality system that allows players to see and feel the impact of every wound inflicted on zombies. The game also offers a variety of melee and ranged weapons. However, don’t think you’ll be able to breeze through the game without consequences – permadeath means that if any player dies, all their progress will be lost. This adds an extra layer of tension to the game, as you must carefully assess the risks and decisions you make.
Based on their experience with Chivalry, there are reasons for optimism about No More Room in Hell 2. The attention the developers dedicated to creating realistic combat mechanics in Chivalry could translate well to the horror genre. However, the game will be released in Early Access, which can be a double-edged sword. While this allows developers to gather feedback and improve the game, it also means that the game may not be fully polished at launch.
