A new stealth-focused immersive sim turned heads at this year’s Future Games Show Spring Showcase. Project Shadowglass, developed solo by Dominic John’s Starhelm Studios, got its first extended look at real-time heist mechanics, combining strategic planning, skill-based stealth, and a fully 3D pixel-art world that is both nostalgic and modern.

Set in a dark fantasy seaside kingdom, the game casts you as a struggling thief hired to steal powerful ancient artifacts in a society divided by wealth and surveillance. The environment reacts dynamically to your choices: guards remember your face, citizens adjust their behavior based on your notoriety, and every action has lasting consequences. Success requires intelligence, patience, and precision, while brute force will quickly get you caught or killed.

Gameplay emphasizes true immersive-sim freedom where you can scout patrol routes, hide in shadows, manipulate light sources, pick locks, and plan heists around a day/night cycle. The FGS trailer highlighted these systems in motion, showcasing infiltration sequences, dynamic lighting and shadows, and multiple paths to each objective. Combat is dangerous, resources are scarce, and failure leaves a permanent mark on the world, reinforcing the high-stakes atmosphere.

A free demo is confirmed to launch on Steam later in 2026.
