Mortal Shell II has received an extended gameplay reveal, offering a deeper look at the upcoming Soulslike sequel from Cold Symmetry and publisher Playstack. The newly released 12-minute trailer highlights significant changes from the original, including faster-paced combat, expanded exploration, and a more ambitious world design.

Building on the foundations of its predecessor, Mortal Shell II introduces a more dynamic combat system that removes traditional stamina restrictions, allowing players to adopt a wider range of aggressive and tactical approaches. Central to the experience is the return of the “Shell” mechanic, where players inhabit the bodies of fallen warriors, each offering different combat styles.

The sequel also places a stronger emphasis on exploration, presenting a compact but interconnected open world filled with secrets, hostile encounters, and environmental storytelling. Players will traverse diverse landscapes, while discovering hidden paths, powerful weapons, and over 60 dungeons designed to challenge both skill and strategy.

In addition to the digital release, Mortal Shell II will be available in physical editions, including a standard version and a premium “Revered Edition” featuring collectible items such as a SteelBook case and art book. Pre-orders will also include exclusive in-game cosmetic bonuses.

Set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox SeriesX/S, and PC via Steam, the sequel is positioning itself as a more expansive and refined take on the Soulslike formula.
