The popular Hytale community server Everlands, widely recognized as the game’s first gun-focused experience, has officially shut down as of March 30, 2026. Known for bringing a polished first-person shooter layer into Hytale’s sandbox world, Everlands attracted attention with Call of Duty-inspired gameplay, including free-for-all matches, custom weapons, and plans for additional modes across classic-style maps.

In a brief announcement shared on X, the Everlands team confirmed the shutdown and thanked their community for its support, directing players to their Discord for further updates. A follow-up message clarified that while a return to Hytale remains a possibility, there are currently no concrete plans or timelines. The developers said they may revisit the project once the game matures and stabilizes, but for now, the server’s operations have ceased entirely.

The decision reflects broader issues surrounding Hytale’s early access phase, which began on January 13, 2026. The game itself has had a turbulent development journey, originally created by Hypixel Studios before being canceled by Riot Games in mid-2025.

It was later revived by its original founders, who reacquired the rights and relaunched development independently. Despite a strong debut with millions of players, Hytale continues to face instability, with frequent updates disrupting mods and custom server features, an ongoing challenge for projects like Everlands that rely heavily on advanced customization.

At its peak, Everlands reportedly drew around 20,000 unique players and even required additional server capacity during traffic surges. However, activity declined sharply in recent weeks, with some tracking data showing little to no player engagement shortly before the shutdown.
