The auto-battler roguelike RPG Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot, created by solo developer Rafael Weilharter under Hamma Studios and published by Sidekick Publishing and Gamersky Games, has now surpassed 250,000 copies sold.

The game originally launched in Early Access on Steam in August 2023 before receiving its full 1.0 release on January 22, 2026 across PC, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. In the game, players take on the role of a dwarven raid leader who begins with only a few inexperienced fighters and gradually builds a squad of up to ten customizable warriors. Each dwarf can fill a specialized role, from resilient frontline tanks to fragile but deadly assassins, spell-casting mages, or vital support units.

Combat itself plays out automatically once battles begin, shifting the focus toward strategy before and after each encounter. Players prepare their squad by arranging formations, assigning gear and abilities, and fine-tuning tactics before sending their party into chaotic battles against classic fantasy enemies like orcs, trolls, and dragons. After each raid, new recruits, upgrades, and permanent progression bonuses help strengthen the clan for future runs.

What makes the milestone even more impressive is the project’s humble origin. Weilharter began developing the game in 2022 while still working a full-time job, gradually expanding it with community feedback during Early Access. Positive word-of-mouth and strong player reception helped the game grow steadily, eventually earning “Very Positive” reviews from thousands of players.

The success of Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot highlights how a focused gameplay idea and consistent community support can still break through without a major studio budget. For Weilharter, the achievement has also had a personal impact, allowing him to transition into full-time indie development and continue building on the success of his dwarven strategy hit.
