Stupid Never Dies, the upcoming title from GPTRACK50, received its first detailed gameplay showcase during the Future Games Show Spring Showcase 2026, offering a closer look at the chaotic action teased during its earlier reveal.

The game first appeared with a music-video-style teaser at The Game Awards 2025, but the new trailer finally dives into how it actually plays. Developed by a new Osaka-based studio under NetEase, GPTRACK50 is led by veteran producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, known for his work on iconic franchises such as Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, and Dragon’s Dogma.

Set in a strange world where monsters such as werewolves, skeletons, and lizardmen are simply part of everyday society, the story follows Davy, a timid zombie who sits at the bottom of the social ladder. Despite his awkward nature, Davy sets out on a dangerous journey through dungeons and otherworldly realms to revive Julia, the frozen human girl he loves.

The new trailer highlights what the developers call a “blazing fast growth” system. Players gain power rapidly by defeating enemies, collecting bizarre items, and stealing abilities from the monsters they defeat. The idea is that each run quickly turns Davy from a weak undead into a wildly powerful and increasingly unhinged combatant.

A major gameplay hook is the ability to modify Davy’s body with monster parts, essentially turning him into a customizable Frankenstein-style fighter. Limbs, weapons, and abilities can all be swapped or upgraded, unlocking new attacks and transformations as the character evolves.

Combat itself appears heavily inspired by stylish action games, featuring fast combos, flashy abilities, and over-the-top weapons. The trailer shows Davy slicing through hordes of enemies using chainsaw-like weapons, unleashing glowing energy slashes and explosive attacks inside dark, monster-filled caverns.

The game is currently scheduled to launch in 2026 for PC via Steam and on PlayStation 5, though an exact release date has yet to be announced.
