Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Brigada Games have confirmed that Quarantine Zone: The Last Check will launch on PC via Steam on January 12, 2026. The apocalyptic checkpoint simulator has quickly become one of the most watched indie titles, drawing massive attention since its reveal.

Interest in the game has been strong from the start. More than 1.2 million players have added it to their Steam wishlists, and over two million people have already tried the free demo. This early success shows how well the game’s mix of resource management, hard choices, and zombie survival has connected with players.

In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, players take on the role of a government agent working at a remote checkpoint during a zombie outbreak. Every day brings a difficult task: deciding who is allowed to enter the safe zone and who must be turned away. Players must carefully manage limited supplies like food and fuel while making life-or-death decisions that can never be taken back.

The full release will add many new systems that were not part of the demo, expanding both the depth and danger of the job. Players will gain access to advanced inspection tools that make screening survivors more detailed and stressful. A portable X-ray can reveal hidden items or signs of infection inside the body, while a metiascope helps examine eyes for traces of the virus. A medical reflex hammer can also be used to test whether survivors show healthy responses.
