Annapurna Interactive has announced People of Note, a unique turn-based RPG musical from debut studio Iridium Studios. The game, which was revealed during the Annapurna Interactive Direct at Tokyo Game Show 2025, is a digital-only title slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Pop singer Cadence is ousted from the prestigious Noteworthy Song Contest. Seeking redemption and stardom, she assembles ensemble of musicians from different genres, including rockers and EDM producers. Their quest unexpectedly leads them to uncover a cataclysmic event known as the Harmonic Convergence, which threatens to unravel the world’s musical harmonies forever.

Transforming traditional turn-based combat into interactive symphonies, the core gameplay rewards players for their precise timing. Tempo-based rhythm mechanics amplify damage and build combo chains, creating a dynamic combat experience. As battles unfold, real-time genre shifts alter conditions, for instance, an accelerating tempo activates frenzy modes.

Furthermore, the most devastating attacks, known as “genre-bending mashups”, fuse each band member’s unique style into a powerful, hybrid spell. The bright, pop-infused cel-shaded visuals, reminiscent of Hi-Fi Rush, are complemented by an original score that fully immerses you in the rhythmic heart of every encounter.
