THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games are set to release a major content update for the Steam Early Access version of Titan Quest II tomorrow, introducing a brand-new chapter titled The Northern Beaches. This expansion promises more combat variety, storytelling, and strategic depth, and will be available to all Early Access players.
The new chapter continues the campaign against the monstrous Ichthians, pushing players toward the stronghold of the formidable King of Tides. The update delivers several new locations, fresh enemy types, three challenging bosses, and plenty of secrets for players to uncover along the storm-lashed shoreline.
A key feature of the Northern Beaches chapter is the overhaul and introduction of new skills across every Mastery. This update encourages greater build diversity and tactical experimentation, particularly in the final confrontation with the Ichthian forces.
Skill updates include:
- Frostbite Skill Tree: Players can now unleash icy control with new skills like Cold Snap, Frost Explosion, and Deep Freeze, designed to create devastating chain reactions of cold damage.
- Earth Mastery: The defensive skill Stone Form has been re-engineered to allow channeled skills while active. It is complemented by Shockwave and Rock Explosion for powerful crowd-control maneuvers, with defensive bonuses from Stone Form protecting players harnessing Earth’s raw power.
- Warfare Mastery: Players can now go head-to-head with the new skill Valor, which calls down the Sword of Damocles for massive damage buffs, albeit at a price.
The Northern Beaches culminates in an showdown with the Ichthian leader, the King of Tides, whose magic trident unleashes cold-damage attacks. Players will also discover new puzzles and the latest tricks for the Rogue mastery as they scour the hidden corners of the expansion area.
