Redemption Road Games and tinyBuild Delayed Kingmakers Early Access

Publisher tinyBuild and developer Redemption Road Games have announced a delay for the medieval third-person shooter and strategy game Kingmakers. Originally scheduled to launch into Early Access on October 8th, the game has been postponed to an unannounced date. It will be available for PC via both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In a statement released by Redemption Road Games, the studio extended an apology to fans but clarified that the decision was necessary to uphold the game’s ambitious vision. The developer said that Kingmakers is an “incredibly ambitious, uncompromising game,” and they are unwilling to compromise planned features to meet the earlier release date.

Redemption Road Games also stated that their goal has always been to create a title unlike anything else on the market, particularly in terms of gameplay, scale, scope, and interactivity. “We set out to push the Unreal Engine 4 codebase to its absolute limits, while still providing true 60 frames per second to midrange PCs, without the need for fake frames,” the team explained.

“We just need a bit more time on content polish before we feel good about charging money for it,” the statement concluded.
