To celebrate the five-year anniversary of its original release, the BAFTA-nominated air combat game The Falconeer has been completely rebuilt and relaunched as The Falconeer: Revolution Remaster. Award-winning solo developer Tomas Sala and publisher Wired Productions announced today that the definitive edition is now available on Steam as a free upgrade for all existing owners.
This Revolution Remaster completely remakes the original game and it will be the starting point for the future of The Falconeer universe. Sala also used new tools to update nearly everything in the game. It invites everyone, from those who played before to those who are new, to see the world of the Ursee like it’s never been seen.
For those who don’t know, The Falconeer is a flying combat game. You play in a huge open world from a third-person view, soaring through the skies on large warbirds. You’ll get into air battles and explore a world damaged by both war and nature. Here’s what’s new:
- Completely Overhauled Visuals: The skies of the Ursee are brought to life with rebuilt environments, redesigned warbirds, new lighting systems, and fully dynamic illumination.
- Refined Flight and Combat: Players will experience a smoother, faster, and more responsive aerial combat system, complemented by rebalanced missions featuring smarter enemies and more epic encounters.
- Integrated Content: The Edge of the World DLC is now fully integrated into the base game and has been remastered to the same high standard.
- Expanded Lore and Controls: The world’s mystery is deepened with new settlements, visual storytelling, and subtle narrative updates. Additionally, a reworked single control scheme provides a more intuitive experience for players using a mouse and keyboard.
- New Features: Further additions include new cosmetic armor sets and expanded voice acting.
