The long-awaited action RPG Lost Soul Aside has had a long and challenging development journey, but its producer, Yang Bing, has finally shared details about the delays and the support that helped bring the project to life. Lost Soul Aside is being developed by Ultizero Games studio and is officially launching on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
In a recent interview, Yang Bing spoke candidly about the reasons for the game’s prolonged development. What began as his solo project quickly garnered public attention after the first trailer, which facilitated the arrival of new partners and collaborators. However, Bing admitted that his personal experience and abilities were not enough to turn the ambitious vision into a fully finished game.
The development process was filled with challenges, from assembling an experienced team, to dealing with personal growth, to learning through trial and error. Bing revealed that there were periods of low motivation as the team struggled, made mistakes, and searched for direction. Nevertheless, with time, support, and persistence, the team improved its skills and experience, which ultimately led to a more efficient development process.
Despite the long development cycle, Bing emphasizes that the core elements of Lost Soul Aside have remained intact. The spectacular visuals and fast, fluid combat that captivated players in the very first trailer are still at the heart of the game. The main story has been expanded and further refined to ensure a rich and engaging narrative experience.
Bing also highlighted the important role of Sony Interactive Entertainment in the game’s development. The publisher provided valuable feedback that led to the optimization of enemy design and behavior. Although some details are still being refined, this collaboration has helped Lost Soul Aside become a more polished and coherent experience.
