Dreadzone just launched, and it’s facing some pretty rough reviews

Dreadzone just hit Steam Early Access, and honestly, the reception hasn’t been great. But who’s really at fault here? The developers actually warned us on Discord last week that they had a super limited budget and poured their hearts into this game, even delaying it multiple times to try and get it right. You know how survival games often launch with some jank, so all we can do now is hope they can get it into a better state.

“The rest is all there, an actual playable game that looks good, a great achievement for a small team with no large funding. The developers are responsive on the channels, so with a team effort we can work out the kinks, that’s what Early Access is all about.” – Steam review

“Nope… I can’t tell you how disappointing it is to follow a game for a period of time anxiously awaiting it’s release just to be utterly crushed by the reality of the state of the game.” – Steam Review

Right now, Dreadzone is sitting at a pretty rough 29% positive reviews out of 257, which means over 192 negative ones. That puts it squarely in “Mostly Negative” territory on Steam. However, the developers at Eshed did respond to the criticism, saying: “We just want to say a heartfelt thank thank you — we truly appreciate your support for our game. We’re here, we’re listening, and we’re taking in all of your feedback as we work toward the upcoming update.”

“We can’t express how much it means to have you with us on this journey. We’ve received a lot of feedback, both positive and constructive, and we’re grateful for all of it. Whether you’re enjoying the game or have suggestions for improvement, please keep sharing. Your input is incredibly valuable”, the devs concluded.
