The acclaimed studio known for The Rogue Prince of Persia and their work on Dead Cells, Evil Empire, has officially taken over the ongoing development and community support for Brotato. Following this announcement, the multi-million-selling roguelike action shooter, originally created by Blobfish, will now receive a steady flow of new content under its new developers.

Since its launch in 2023, this top-down arena shooter has gathered over 10 million players across PC, console, and mobile. Given this huge success, Brotato is already an expansive game for both solo and co-op players. Evil Empire promises to keep “baking Brotato” with “fire updates” packed with new content and even more roguelike elements.

The developer has already offered a sneak peek at the first major content update, which is planned for October. For example, this update will introduce a new enemy called “The Gobbler,” marking the start of a planned content roadmap. Therefore, Evil Empire assures players that, as experienced developers in the roguelike genre, all new additions will be carefully integrated to improve the existing game.

Brotato is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android.
