While Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase dominated today’s headlines, Tuesday was packed with new announcements, firm release dates, and upcoming console launches. To help you keep track of everything dropping this month and beyond, we’ve rounded up the highlights in today’s Daily Indie News Roundup.
Not Doppler revealed its upcoming game The Road, a co-op driving horror game for up to 5 players, which is coming this year to Steam. Operating out of run-down motels, you and your friends have been selected for the finest Artefact Recovery Program in a vast anomaly-ridden world. Work together to keep your car in good repair as you drive-to and explore creature infested locations.
Paradox Interactive is returning to the original Cities: Skylines with Race Day, the game’s first expansion in two years. Developed alongside Tantalus Media, the DLC lets players convert their streets into competitive courses for racing, cycling, and running. Arriving March 10th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, the release comes as the publisher continues to navigate the troubled waters of Cities: Skylines 2.
The fifth installment of the acclaimed co-op puzzle franchise, We Were Here Tomorrow, has been officially announced. Developer Total Mayhem Games is calling this “the biggest shift yet” for the series. Moving away from traditional settings, the game transports players to the Norcek facility, a retro-futuristic complex where they’ll navigate challenges using entirely new abilities and gear.
Publisher tinyBuild and developer All Parts Connected announced that ALL WILL FALL, the innovative new survival city builder featuring collapsible vertical settlements in a post-apocalyptic ocean world, will launch on Steam on April 3. You’ll be able to experience over 100 hours of strategic gameplay with additional content planned post-launch.
Sophie: Starlight Whispers is an emotional adventure with pixelated graphics, deep narrative and immersive exploration. The story questions what it means to be different and how it can be a superpower. Also, the main focus of the gameplay is exploration while pushing forward the main story progression while fighting different creatures and bosses. It is set to launch on Steam March 10th.
Hibikai Games, a Japanese husband and wife indie duo formed by veteran developers with experience in major console games, has launched the Steam store page for their upcoming action-adventure game Rural Cat Trails. In this game you’ll explore Nanoha Town, the idyllic Japanese countryside, from a cat’s perspective during the cherry blossom season.
Saigon Dragon Studios today announced that Space Tales, its retro-futuristic real-time strategy game, will launch in Early Access on Steam on March 11th. The Early Access release includes the first eight story missions, the introduction of a new enemy faction, and replayable survival mode variants for each mission.
The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch versions of #DRIVE Rally will launch on June 18. The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions will be available both physically and digitally. The game first launched in Early Access for PC and Mac via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG on September 25, 2024, followed by a full release on April 16, 2025.
Publisher Weekend Games and independent British developer Upstream Arcade revealed the lightning-fast precision speedrunner Echobreaker, which is coming to PC via Steam in 2026. Each level is punishing and comes with huge pressure, designed to simulate real combat conditions. That includes enemies, who can be taken down and taken out to gain explosive bursts of speed.
Ahead of the brand-new demo available this Friday, industry veterans OmniMegaSuperCorp have revealed a new hero onboarding video (or combat trailer, as some would call it) for Ledgerbound, their debut turn-based comedy dating RPG coming to PC via Steam this Spring. Ooo first launched for PC via Steam on August 7, 2025.
Publisher PLAYISM and developer Crimson Dusk will release 3D bullet hell action game Homura Hime for Switch 2 in 2026. As previously announced, Homura Hime will launch first for PC via Steam on March 4. Homura Hime combines fast-paced, combo-oriented combat with beautiful Japanese anime-style visuals.
Cooperative side-scrolling arcade game Go! Go! Mister Chickums will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC via Steam on April 2. It is a classic single-screen platformer, inspired by arcade hits of the 80s. The game can be played either in single-player mode, or in local couch cooperative play with two players simultaneously.
Publisher Private Division and developer Weta Workshop will release Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game for Switch 2 on March 25, the companies announced. Users who own the Switch version will be able to upgrade at no additional cost. Tales of the Shire first launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC via Steam on July 29, 2025.
Killing Floor developer Tripwire Interactive has conducted layoffs affecting 23 people. In a statement on LinkedIn, the Georgia-based studio said it needed to “align with business realities where needed in order to stay focused on [its] creative goals” as the “gaming industry continues to evolve.”
Following Sony’s lead with its recent PlayStation AI assistant, Microsoft has filed a patent for a “helper” that can temporarily take over your Xbox session. As spotted by Tech4Games, the filing, titled “state management for video game help sessions”, aims to replace “rudimentary” help methods that Microsoft claims require too much effort from the player. Instead of following a guide, the AI simply steps in to clear the hurdle for you.
In the ongoing fight to preserve gaming history, even the smallest, most obscure titles can spark major legal battles. This week, the Video Game History Foundation announced it has successfully pushed back against what it describes as a copyright troll, clearing the way to properly archive and share materials related to the long-forgotten Japanese PC adventure Cookie’s Bustle.
