Cosmic Race: Galactic Showdown, a new sci-fi combat racing game from developer and publisher Psypher Interactive, is set to launch on Steam Early Access in late 2025. Inspired by retro arcade racers, the game recently revealed a new trailer at The MIX Fall Showcase.
In Cosmic Race, you’ll race across alien worlds and engage in high-speed vehicular combat within destruction-rich environments. The game draws inspiration from classics like Split/Second and Blur, featuring 25 unique sci-fi vehicles across four classes: Light Motor Vehicles, Super Cars, SUVs, and Tanks. This blend of racing and combat, highlighted in recent trailers, will appeal to fans of Wipeout or Mario Kart who enjoy a competitive edge.
The game offers multiple modes, including Classic Race (lap-based points), Time Trials (fastest lap challenges), and Bomb Rush (delivering bombs to safe zones under a timer). You can play with up to 12 players in LAN and online lobbies, either solo or in teams, while the Single Player Campaign pits you against increasingly tough AI racers.
