Developer SorryPoniko and publisher Critical Reflex, the team behind viral indie hits like Buckshot Roulette, have showcased new gameplay for their upcoming action roguelite GIMMIKO. During the CRITICAL REFLEX TIME livestream on September 15, the game was featured with new a trailer that gave a deep dive into its bizarre, neon-drenched world and innovative mechanics.
Described as a “psychedelic, cat-based, twin-stick, dice-building action roguelite,” GIMMIKO blends chaotic combat, procedural generation, and surreal elements. The game draws inspiration from the collective subconscious, where demons leak into reality, forcing players to “save the world from the curse of the Jabberwock.” This mind-melting world is brought to life with cats, dice mechanics, and unique visuals.
You can now play the updated demo for the game on PC via Steam. This new version includes new shopkeepers, bosses, animations, and as the developers humorously note: “A GIANT BRAIN AGE STYLED JERRORD SORELLI HEAD that we blew our whole budget on.”
