After a long wait, Emberstorm Entertainment has finally announced that the adventure of a young witch in REKA will be fully available this August. While the exact date is still unknown, it has been confirmed that REKA will launch for PC via Steam.
REKA is an upcoming atmospheric base-building game set in rural Europe at the end of the 19th century. You play as an herbal witch traveling through the countryside in your chicken-legged hut, which you’ve built yourself. As an apprentice to the legendary Baba Yaga, you’ll roam forests and marshes, gather herbs, craft magical goods for villagers, and customize your ever-growing home.
A blend of exploration, crafting, and RPG elements awaits, relying on nature, spirits, and the world around you to develop powerful magic. You can also customize your magical home with additional rooms, items, and memories you’ll discover on your journey, with complete creative freedom to shape it however you like.
“The feedback we received from both the closed playtest and the demo was incredible — thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us. Reading about your experiences with REKA helped us understand what we need to focus on as we begin our sprint toward launching in Early Access. We wanted to take your feedback into account, so we decided to spend a bit more time in development to make some improvements,” the Emberstorm Entertainment team said.
