Spell Trigger Blends Anime Style With Fast-Paced Shooter RPG Action

Indie studio Tosca Orca has announced its first game Spell Trigger, a fast-paced third-person multiplayer shooter RPG with a strong anime look. The game is now available to wishlist on Steam for PC and marks the debut project from the Indonesian team. The developers point to NieR: Automata as a key influence, especially its mix of emotional tone and smooth, stylish action.

Players take on the role of Vivian Veyne, known as the Crimson-Coated Warden Magus of the Magus Order’s US West Branch. Her job is to protect the balance between the modern human world and a hidden realm powered by magic. That balance begins to fall apart when a strange wave of sleep spreads across the world, leaving humanity helpless.

Combat is built around the game’s core feature, the Spell Trigger. This special weapon blends guns and magic, letting you fire spells like bullets. The system creates a mix of shooting and powerful magic attacks where movement plays a big role, as Vivian can dash through waves of enemy projectiles and chain abilities together to form strong combos.

Alongside the story mode, the game will support online co-op, giving players the chance to team up and take on hard missions and large boss fights together. Progression follows a deep RPG system where you gain levels, unlock new spells, upgrade weapons, and adjust their loadouts.

Although a release date has not been shared yet, Tosca Orca has confirmed that the game will include full English voice acting.
