For South Korean publisher Neowiz, 2025 became a turning point that went against many industry trends. The year began with careful expectations, but the continued success of Lies of P and its expansions changed everything. According to co-CEO Sean Kim in a recent interview with Game Informer, the results went beyond financial goals and helped shift Neowiz from a mobile-first publisher into a major name in the global PC and console space.

A major reason for this growth was the Overture expansion, a prequel DLC released in June 2025. Set in the city of Krat before the tragic Puppet Frenzy, the expansion let players see the city in its final, peaceful days. This success confirmed that the series is not just a one-time hit, but a long-term franchise planned to last for many years.

Neowiz is now building on that momentum with a strong lineup of future projects. The company is working on more than five internal games for PC and console, including a full sequel to Lies of P and a new Soulslike project led by action game veteran Kay Lee.

At the same time, the publisher is moving toward a model focused on long-term content and fan engagement instead of single launch moments. This approach also shapes its third-party publishing plans, with partnerships formed with Western studios such as Wolfeye, which is making a retro sci-fi first-person RPG, and Zakazane, which is developing a noir western RPG.

While premium console and PC games are now a major focus, Neowiz has not stepped away from mobile gaming. Its long-running hit Cats & Soup marked its fourth anniversary in 2025 and passed 60 million downloads. The release of Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe in April helped expand the brand even further.

Behind the scenes, technology also supports this growth. Neowiz has openly shared its use of AI tools such as Gemini and ChatGPT to improve internal workflows. These tools are used to handle routine tasks and analyze large amounts of playtest data, not to replace developers. By saving time on repetitive work, the teams can focus more on creative decisions and fine-tuning gameplay.
