Narrative-driven cozy games continue to grow in popularity, and a newly announced project hopes to bring a deeper emotional layer to the genre. Publisher Serenity Forge and developer Cinnadev have revealed Delphinium, a story-focused farming simulation set to launch on PC and Xbox consoles in 2027 with support for Xbox Play Anywhere.

The game was unveiled during the Game Developers Conference 2026 in San Francisco, where it is being shown privately to attendees during the festival’s gaming showcase. While players will need to wait a few years for the full release, the early reveal gives a glimpse into a project that combines relaxing life-sim mechanics with a much heavier narrative focus.

Delphinium follows the story of Haiyan, a young woman who returns to her home village after years away. She originally left to help her older brother rebuild their war-torn homeland, but after his execution ends the rebellion he was part of, Haiyan finds herself lost and grieving. Forced to return home, she must rebuild her life while helping restore a quiet community of outsiders and survivors.

The gameplay blends familiar farming-sim activities with branching narrative choices. Players can grow crops, fish, cook meals, and complete daily tasks, but every interaction also influences relationships with villagers and unlocks new story events. Conversations, personal conflicts, and player decisions gradually shape Haiyan’s future, leading to multiple possible endings depending on how players guide her life.
