Publisher indie.io and developer RipRed have announced that Graphite, a hand-drawn roguelike RPG, will launch for PC via Steam on July 27, 2026. You can already experience the game’s opening chapter through a free demo, which includes the entire first act.

Set inside a child’s spiral notebook, Graphite transforms pen-and-ink sketches into a living fantasy world where paper, pencils, and everyday household objects become part of an imaginative adventure. Players guide one of seven heroes tasked by the mysterious Scribe with preparing for the arrival of Death, uncovering a story that blends fantasy with the imagination of its unseen creator.

The game combines narrative exploration with tactical, timeline-based combat. Every action consumes time, requiring you to carefully plan attacks while using the Break system to delay enemy turns. However, opponents can use the same mechanics, creating battles that reward strategy over brute force.

Outside combat, each run is shaped by a tarot-inspired adventure deck featuring illustrated events and branching choices. Decisions are influenced by the player’s party, collected items, and previous actions, allowing stories to unfold differently with every playthrough.
