Publisher Big Blue Sky Games and developer Kitten Cup Studio have announced that Capy Castaway, a cozy narrative-driven adventure, will launch for PC via Steam on August 6.
Described as “Spirited Away meets Untitled Goose Game,” the game follows the journey of a young capybara and a talkative crow as they search for a way home across a mysterious island filled with puzzles, memorable characters, and magical secrets.
The story begins after a capybara pup is swept away when its zoo enclosure floods. Stranded on an unfamiliar island, the young animal befriends a resourceful crow. Together, they soon discover that the flood has disturbed more than nature, threatening the fragile balance between the natural and spiritual worlds.
You will explore a setting inspired by Toronto, reimagined with a whimsical fantasy twist. Along the way, you’ll help island residents, uncover hidden mysteries, and gradually learn what “home” truly means.
Each protagonist brings unique abilities to the adventure. Capy can sniff out hidden objects, dig through the environment, and push obstacles to solve environmental puzzles. Meanwhile, Crow acts as the duo’s voice, using its sharp eye to retrieve distant items and even carry Capy across short gaps.
