Following the hugely successful launch of Palworld 1.0, developer Pocketpair has confirmed that the franchise will continue expanding with new spin-offs and other unannounced projects.

Speaking with Game8, Head of Publishing and Communications John “Bucky” Buckley said the studio is actively exploring new ways to grow the Palworld universe: “We’re thinking carefully about what we might do next. We’ve got some spin-offs we’re experimenting with, and hopefully we’ll be able to figure out how to keep expanding the Palworld universe.”

Buckley also confirmed that Pocketpair has “a few other little secret things in development,” adding that “The IP is gonna keep growing.” Several spin-offs have already been announced, including Palworld: More Than Just Pals, a dating simulation set at Private Palpagos Academy, and Palfarm, a farming-focused title. However, Pocketpair has yet to reveal the additional projects currently in development.

Buckley also shared new details about Palworld’s earliest design, explaining that the game originally wasn’t conceived as an open-world survival experience: “It started life as, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to have a factory game like Satisfactory, but instead of machines, it was little creatures?… Wouldn’t it be fun if [there was] creature collecting?'”

According to Buckley, the project gradually evolved into the survival crafting game players know today, though elements of that original vision remain. Players can still assign Pals to automate production, gather resources, and operate workstations throughout their bases.
