The upcoming life simulation inZOI, which many are calling the South Korean version of The Sims, is introducing a revolutionary Karma system that will have unusual consequences for players who choose to lead their characters down an evil path. As director Hyungjun Kim revealed to PC Gamer, every action of a character in the game will be tracked by Karma, and that Karma will ultimately decide the character’s fate at the end of their life.
The Karma system in inZOI works by assigning specific Karma points to every decision and action of a character. When a character reaches the end of their life, the number of Karma points will determine whether they find peace in eternity or remain in the existing world as a ghost. If a character becomes a ghost, you will have the opportunity to help them atone through specific actions so they can move on to a new life. Although atonement is not mandatory, the game will have a mechanic that encourages players to perform good deeds.
inZOI is announced as a next-generation life simulation, where you take on the role of a god-like creator who shapes the lives of “Zois” in a highly customizable world built in Unreal Engine 5. The game offers deep personalization, allowing you to customize everything from character appearance to entire cityscapes. It promises a realistic and unpredictable life experience, with an emphasis on emergent storytelling and a vibrant, reactive community of NPCs.
In addition to classic activities like working, building homes, and maintaining relationships, inZOI includes some unusual elements. One of them is a cat named Psychet, who can influence the game world through mysterious devices. This combination of the mundane and fantastical elements makes inZOI a unique experience that will attract the attention of genre fans.
inZOI is coming to Steam Early Access for the PC platform on March 28th of this year.
