During the Story-Rich Showcase 2026, developer Dave Lloyd and Powerhoof announced that players can now dive into a new demo for the upcoming fantasy adventure The Telwynium. The demo on Steam includes Book One: Winter’s Dawn, offering introduction to the game’s world, characters, and puzzle-solving gameplay.
The story begins after the destruction of the village of Willows Dene, forcing a group of survivors to flee west in search of safety. Along the way, players will meet a cast of companions that includes childhood friends, warriors, spellcasters, and even a towering creature made from mud and stone.
What immediately makes The Telwynium stand out is its presentation. Inspired by classic Sierra adventures, the game embraces a retro 16-color EGA visual style while avoiding many of the frustrations associated with older point-and-click titles.
The newly available demo showcases the first chapter of a much larger fantasy saga that will eventually span four books. Throughout the adventure, you will switch between multiple characters, solve story-driven puzzles, and uncover the deeper mysteries behind the demonic threat known as the Shadowfell.
While the full collection isn’t scheduled to launch until 2027, the demo provides a strong first impression.
