THQ Nordic and Nine Rocks Games, the studio known for Way of the Hunter, have revealed their new game Next Hunting Adventure. It is set in large open-world areas inspired by the wild regions of North America and Canada. While no release date has been shared yet, the game is in development for PC via Steam and is planned as a long-term project.

The team is putting a strong focus on realism and to support this goal, developers have partnered with more than ten real-world brands. These partnerships bring licensed rifles, modern tools, and advanced optics into the game, all designed to behave as close to real equipment as possible.

Players begin their journey as a newcomer arriving in New Laurentia, one of the game’s main locations. This vast area serves as the starting point for a story that slowly introduces you to the world and its challenges. The main mystery centers on strange behavior among the local moose population. During this journey, you will meet several key characters, including a local warden and a skilled dog trainer, who help guide you through the region and its wildlife.

Hunting in Next Hunting Adventure covers a wide range of animals. Players will track large game such as elk, bears, and bison, while also hunting smaller animals like turkeys and rabbits. The open world is designed to feel alive, encouraging careful planning, patience, and respect for the environment.

One of the biggest new features is the hunting dog companion, who helps in many ways, from finding animal tracks to following blood trails and locating wounded animals. The dog grows better over time through training and regular use, becoming a trusted partner instead of just a simple tool.
