Nintendo Switch players can now look forward to a new roguelike game, as Wizard of Legend II is officially slated for release on the platform later this year. Coming from publisher Humble Games and developer Dead Mage, this title already released on other platforms, with its Early Access launch on PC in October 2024 and its full 1.0 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in June 2025.
Wizard of Legend II builds on the foundation of its 2018 predecessor, putting you in the role of an aspiring wizard in a procedurally generated world known as the Floating Lands. The core of the gameplay revolves around mastering elemental Arcana, spells tied to fire, water, earth, lightning, air, and chaos. This allows for dynamic combat and a high level of experimentation with spell combinations.
The game supports both solo play and co-op with up to three friends, either locally or online. The Switch version will benefit from all the upgrades introduced in the 1.0 release. This includes a challenging Chaos Biome with new minibosses and a formidable final boss, as well as 12 new Chaos Arcana spells and 10 new relics. The game has also received a Sky Citadel update, which added a new biome, 15 new Dash Arcana spells, and a new boss encounter with a King and Queen.
However, it’s seen mixed reviews on Steam with players noting its limited content around spells and bugs that ruin the gameplay.
