The open-world PvPvE extraction shooter SAND: Raiders of Sophie, formerly titled simply SAND, has been delayed from its initial window and is now scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam in Q1 2026. The new timeline was announced by publisher tinyBuild and developers Hologryph and TowerHaus.
The decision to postpone the release stems directly from the valuable feedback received during a recent player test. The development team said that they are taking the necessary time to ensure the final product meets community expectations and fully reflects their vision for the game.
“In the weeks since the playtest, we’ve been hard at work going through all the feedback and suggestions we received from our players,” Hologryph and tinyBuild stated in a joint update. They added that “releasing the game is a milestone we only get one chance to hit,” necessitating the delay to properly address everything learned from the community.
SAND: Raiders of Sophie is set on the post-apocalyptic dunes of a fallen planet, where players operate gigantic, mechanical walkers known as Tramplers. These Tramplers are the core mechanic, acting as a mode of transport, a main base, primary storage, and a formidable weapon to shield players and their loot from the elements and rival factions. You are given the freedom to build, customize, and command these mechanical behemoths from the ground up.
