Asobo Studio has released a short scenic clip for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, showcasing its Mediterranean-inspired locations and confirming that Photo Mode will be available at launch.

The footage moves through several environments from Sophia’s journey, including coastal islands, ancient ruins, shipwrecks and crowded city streets resembling medieval Venice. Other scenes feature rocky canyons, monumental statues, underground temples and violent weather forming above the cliffs.

Resonance takes place 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem and follows a younger Sophia, the plunderer introduced in the previous game. While fleeing from an army, she travels to the mysterious Island of the Minotaur to investigate her past and an ancient curse connected to the Prima Macula.

The prequel retains the series’ focus on exploration, puzzles and emotional storytelling, although Sophia’s abilities allow for a more action-heavy approach. She can fight directly using a sword and dagger, parry attacks and use her agility to gain an advantage. However, combat remains dangerous, encouraging players to combine direct attacks with stealth and environmental tools.

Greek mythology also plays a larger role in the story. Sophia must navigate Minoan ruins, solve light-based puzzles using a stolen sphere and confront a creature hidden behind the legend of the Minotaur.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches on August 27, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also join Game Pass on release day.
