Developer Relay has officially announced Gravity Forge, a third-person shooter set in a visually striking dieselpunk world. In this game, players become parkour assassins who use gravity, physics, and fluid movement to fight hordes of biomechanical enemies.
Inspired by titles such as Warframe, Doom Eternal, and Shadow Warrior 2, Gravity Forge brings a unique twist to the shooter genre. The game blends roguelike and metroidvania elements. One of the standout features is the “spatial shooter” mechanic, allowing players to manipulate the environment, alter gravity to walk on walls, create gravitational vortices, and change the size and mass of objects.
The game also emphasizes co-op gameplay, letting players team up with friends for even more explosive action. However, friendly fire is enabled, so you’ll need to be careful when using powerful abilities and explosives. Set in the dystopian city of Gaston, the game combines a gritty dieselpunk aesthetic with the elegance of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game world is both beautiful and dangerous, filled with biomechanical foes and elite adversaries.
Replayability is key in Gravity Forge, with levels that can be revisited to uncover new paths, enemies, and content as you progress. Procedural generation and metroidvania-inspired exploration ensure that each play session feels fresh and unpredictable.
Although the game is still in pre-alpha, Gravity Forge will be available on PC via Steam, with console platforms to be announced. The release date and pricing have yet to be revealed.
