BitQuest Studio has released a huge Ashfield Hollow demo through Steam, allowing players to experience the first 50 in-game days at Camp Ashfield before its planned Q1 2027 launch.

The demo contains roughly ten hours of gameplay on its default settings. Progress can be transferred into the full release, meaning that players will not have to abandon the character, settlement or resources developed during the trial.

Controller and Steam Deck support are included, alongside extensive sandbox settings. Players can customise their character and adjust zombie population numbers, health, detection range and respawn speed to create a more relaxed or dangerous version of the survival experience.

Set ten years after an outbreak, Ashfield Hollow follows an amnesiac survivor beginning a new life inside one of the remaining settlements. Its systems combine real-time combat and scavenging with farming, fishing, animal care, crafting, relationships and base construction.

Players venture through forests, abandoned towns, ruined buildings and sewers while fighting infected creatures and hostile survivors. We have previously examined another post-apocalyptic survival game built around zombies, scavenging and base building, but Ashfield Hollow places greater emphasis on everyday life and community.
