Publisher 4Divinity and developer Eschatology Entertainment have confirmed that Guns of Eschaton will launch in 2026 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. An exact release date has not been announced.
The new gameplay trailer presents the project as a deliberate first-person Soulslike rather than a conventional fast-paced shooter. Ammunition is limited, enemies possess specific weaknesses and players are expected to study encounters before committing to an attack.
A hand-drawn Cherokee Codex records information about enemy behaviour, anatomy, rituals and vulnerable points. Combat combines more than 20 period-inspired firearms with specialised ammunition, calculated parries, dashes and occult abilities. Different bullets can be arranged inside a revolver’s cylinder to create a planned sequence of attacks.
Character builds incorporate active and passive abilities, talismans, armour, consumables and three sacramental paths. According to the Steam page, the complete journey supports solo and cooperative progression alongside optional player-versus-player invasions.
The setting transforms the 19th-century American frontier into a supernatural wasteland known as The Burning. Ruined settlements, historical figures and familiar Western mythology are distorted by competing religions, occult forces and monstrous factions.
Its visual identity was shaped by the late Viktor Antonov, whose art direction helped define Half-Life 2 and Dishonored. Rather than functioning solely as a backdrop, the world will reveal its history through exploration, environmental storytelling and player decisions.
