Tango Gameworks appears ready to turn the page and focus on the future. The studio recently updated its official website with a complete timeline of its biggest projects, highlighting classics such as The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the critically acclaimed Hi-Fi Rush. At the top of the page sits a confident message: “Not just a one hit wonder,” while the timeline concludes with a simple but optimistic statement: “To the future!”

The update comes nearly two years after Microsoft shut down Tango Gameworks during a wave of studio closures in 2024. Despite the success of Hi-Fi Rush, the future of the Japanese developer looked uncertain until Krafton stepped in and acquired the studio alongside the rights to the Hi-Fi Rush franchise. Since then, Tango has quietly rebuilt operations in Tokyo and started preparing for its next chapter.

The strongest sign of that comeback is the studio’s ongoing hiring campaign. Tango Gameworks is currently recruiting across multiple departments, including programming, animation, design, production, and art. Several job listings mention experience with Unreal Engine 5 and development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, suggesting the team is working on a modern 3D action title.

While Microsoft retained ownership of The Evil Within and Ghostwire: Tokyo, Tango continues to control the Hi-Fi Rush IP through the Krafton acquisition. That means the studio has at least one successful franchise it can continue building upon, whether through sequels, spin-offs, or entirely new ideas.
