Indie studio Anima Project has officially confirmed that Anima Song from the Abyss is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam in 2027, and it already feels like a hidden gem for fans of dark fantasy RPGs.
Set in the universe of Anima Beyond Fantasy, this title mixes fast-paced hack-and-slash combat with the deeper storytelling and character-building you would normally expect from a tabletop After crashing into the mysterious realm known as the Abyss, Soren and Noein are forced to work together to uncover the truth behind a forgotten civilization and a strange song tied to its destruction.
One of the biggest hooks is the dual protagonist system. You can switch between Soren and Noein during exploration and combat, with each character bringing unique abilities and playstyles. The game also promises interconnected world design, massive boss fights against creatures like wyrms and legendary monsters, and a progression system focused on leveling abilities, forging weapons, and customizing builds.
