FEROCIOUS, a single-player survival shooter from indie team OMYOG and publisher tinyBuild, has officially launched on PC via Steam. The game drops players onto a mysterious prehistoric island filled with dinosaurs, mechas, and hired soldiers. While its idea is interesting, early reactions show that many players feel the launch needed more polish. A new trailer shown during the PC Gaming Show 2025 confirmed the game’s release.
FEROCIOUS arrived on December 4, 2025 priced at 19.99 euros, discounted from its full 24.99 € price. By December 5, it had gathered 81 user reviews, with only 53% of them positive. Early player numbers peaked at about 360 users, hinting at a small but curious audience.
The game draws inspiration from titles like Far Cry, The Forest, and Ark, but leans heavily toward fast, dramatic action. Its main story follows a journey to return a baby dinosaur to its mother. Players have praised the game’s visuals and its island setting. Many also enjoy the brutal battles against dinosaurs, mercenaries, and machines, along with satisfying gunplay and crafting.
However, player criticism has been loud, much of it focused on technical problems. Issues reported in the demo appear to remain in the full release. Many reviews point to frame drops, crashes, and poor performance on mid-range hardware. Others say the game feels unfinished, comparing it to an early alpha build, with broken rope mechanics, shaky controller support, and confused enemy behavior.
Some players expected an open-world experience and were instead met with a more directed, linear story. There are also worries about the short campaign and survival systems that feel too shallow, reduced mostly to managing ammunition. You might want to wait for updates that improve performance before buying.
