Studio Indoor Astronaut used the PC Gaming Show to announce the sequel to its co-op hit, Unrailed 2: Back on Track, which will be released on PC via Steam Early Access next year.

This is primarily a multiplayer game where four different players will have to join forces, gather resources, build tracks, upgrade their trains, and face various challenges imposed by this strange universe to reach the next station, all while the train is constantly moving. Each journey through the diverse biomes is unique, with procedurally generated maps that offer branching landscapes.

The innovative Terrain Conductor mode allows you to express your imagination by creating your own customized maps that you can share with the Unrailed community. Unrailed 2: Back on Track also offers advanced customization for your train and your character.

Additionally, it’s possible to retain certain upgrades from one playthrough to the next, meaning every defeat is an opportunity for a fresh start, with new powers and advantages. The possibilities are numerous, but one thing remains certain — the train must never stop.

The first game, according to information from SteamDB, garnered about 15 thousand positive reviews, and at one point, up to 10 thousand players played it simultaneously. Whether the sequel will experience the same success remains to be seen next year.
