Terra Invicta, the ambitious sci-fi grand strategy game developed by Pavonis Interactive, is officially leaving Early Access and heading for its 1.0 release on January 5, 2026. Publisher Hooded Horse, for whom this was the very first game signed, confirmed the release across multiple platforms, including Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, the Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass.

The game is set against the backdrop of an alien presence detected at the fringes of the Solar System. This crisis causes humanity to fracture into seven ideological factions, each possessing a unique vision for the future and competing for control over Earth’s nations. Players must manage global politics, expand their influence across the Solar System to exploit its resources, and construct powerful spaceships to engage in realistic tactical combat.

Since launching into Early Access in September 2022, Pavonis Interactive has continuously improved Terra Invicta with several major updates:

  • User Experience: An overhauled UI and continuous refinement of the expansive tech tree, alongside a new and improved tutorial system.
  • Space Content: Significant improvements to space combat mechanics, plus the addition of new ship classes, habitat modules, and other space-based content.
  • Earth Politics: The introduction of Exo-fighters for Earth nations, new and updated regions, and formable nations to manage the complex geopolitical landscape.
  • Quality of Life: Continuous improvements to AI behavior, countless balance adjustments, and quality-of-life fixes, including the addition of the “2070 scenario,” which provides a strategic “quick-start” option.

The upcoming 1.0 update will mark the culmination of these efforts by introducing a new “2026” starting scenario, which updates the game’s world state from the distant 2022 launch context. Additionally, the final update will bring official support for five new languages and incorporate a final round of bug fixes and tweaks following the recent Release Candidate 1 update in November.
